Karen Richardson Art Studio
Artist
Whether she is exploring by RV, motorcycle, snowmobile, kayak, or on foot, Karen Richardson captures moments of transcendent beauty with her camera and sketchbook. Back in her studio, these references inspire dramatic watercolour paintings, which she varnishes and frames without glass. During the last 35 years, over 700 of her paintings have found their way into private and corporate art collections in twenty countries. Karen’s favourite subjects are the peaceful lakes, weathered rocks, pine trees, and starry skies of the Canadian Shield region. The uplifting resonance of her work encourages viewers to step into her paintings utterly captivated, and not want to leave. Karen is author of Watercolour Toolbox: Essentials for Painting Success, an award-winning art instruction book, and has taught watercolour workshops since 2006. Her home and studio overlook peaceful farmland in Lindsay.
